WWF delivered to Spanish Government’s Ministry of Public Works, the first’s 15.000 signatures collected by internet, under the motto “Not another Lynx run over by cars”, in order to raise awareness of the responsible for the Environment and Development affairs, because of the lynx road-kills on the reintroduction’s areas. Since January 2014 to the present, 10 lynx had been run over at 4 black spots on the roads that Administrations did not correct.

On June 11th gathered the working group of roads permeabilization for the wild fauna, and identified the black spots were occurred more run over’s, in 6 roads. All of them are in Andalusia, one on highway A4, near Andújar (Jaén), another on A-420, between Cardeña and Azuel (Córdoba), another on highway A-49 Sevilla-Huelva, near Chucena (Huelva), and on Nacional 442 Huelva-Matalascañas.

WWF consider it scandalous, as the majority of the run over’s could be prevented, applying simply and low cost measures, such as repair or maintenance of road protection fences, installation of road signs and signaling and the cleaning of roadsides.
