Kity, the young female that was detected last May in the connection area, between Cardeña-Andújar (Jaén/Córdoba) and Guadalmellato (Córdoba), was captured on June 25th for placement of a radio transmitter collar.

In this way, it’s possible to know its movements, helping us to know its immediate position and its territorial limits.
Until now it is known that its dominance area is the middle course of Corcomé valley, and has made commuting to south and entered on Gomera’s territorial boundaries. It should be recalled that Gomera is the female that was released from a trap on last February, on the lower reaches of this same valley, and still dominates this territory.

Finally, on June 26th, was possible to detect, through photographic trapping technique, on a nearby by Corcomé valley area, the presence of Habana, a female originate from Jándula valley. With this, it is the third Iberian lynx female in the area, confirming the possibility of the creation of a unique lynx population, on Serra Morena’s heart (Cardeña – Andújar – Guadalmellato).
