The children's theatre play 'Mírame de Lejos', by the EDAE company, will focus an extensive program of information activities around the Iberian lynx
The children's theatre play 'Mírame de Lejos', by EDAE, will arrive next Saturday, June 3, at the Teatro Carlos III de La Carolina (Jaén) as the central axis of the seminar that will organize the project around the Iberian lynx Life+Iberlince 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' that weekend in the town of Jaén.
Along with the theatrical performance, which will take place at 18.30 on Saturday, Iberlince has designed for Sunday, June 4, a wide program of playful and dynamic activities, aimed especially at children and youth, through which participants will know basic aspects of the biology and ecology of the Iberian lynx, as well as other curiosities about the species, which will help them to become aware of the need to conserve and protect endangered species such as the Iberian lynx.
The activities, which will take place throughout the morning at Paseo Molino de Viento in the town of Jaén, will invite the children to create masks of lynx, to make plaques of lynx, to play a game of the giant goose, to put music to the event in a percussion workshop... Workshops with which they will not only have fun, but also, will serve to transmit messages related to the conservation of the Iberian lynx.
During the day, which will start at 11.00 a.m. and until 2 p.m. uninterruptedly, attendees will also be able to enjoy a storyteller with stories of lynx and may participate in a workshop of road education 'Cuidado con el lince’, in which monitors will give them some fundamental guidelines to follow when circulating in a territory with the presence of Iberian lynx. They will also be able to visit a photographic exhibition with a selection of images of the species, their natural habitat and human context.
Attendees will also be able to photograph themselves near an Iberian lynx thanks to a virtual scenario that Iberlince will install on the Windmill Walk of La Carolina, and whose images can be downloaded later on the project’s Facebook page (@iberlinceEU), where it also will be possible to see all the images taken in the photocall of the days.
With the theatrical performance and parallel activities, the Iberlince project aims to raise awareness of the Iberian lynx and to involve society in the importance of social participation in the recovery of threatened species.
