The Life+Iberlince project organizes a series of conferences focused on the Iberian lynx in Cardeña (Córdoba)

On Sunday the 11th, the children's play 'Mírame de Lejos', by the EDAE theatre company, will be at the centre of an extensive activities program surrounding the lynx.
On June 11th, in Cardeña (Córdoba), the Life Iberlince project for the 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' will host a seminar aimed at all audiences, which will focus on the play 'Mírame de Lejos', by the EDAE theatre company, as well as a wide variety of educational workshops in which both children and adults can have fun with and learn from the Iberian lynx.
In these workshops, which will take place Sunday morning from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Plaza de la Independencia, attendees will learn the basics about the biology and ecology of the Iberian lynx, as well as other curiosities about the species, which will raise awareness regarding the need to conserve and protect endangered species such as Lynx pardinus.
As part of these activities, participants will be invited to make lynx masks and badges, play a large version of the game of the goose tailored to the lynx, dance the choreography of the lynx protagonists from the play 'Mírame de Lejos '... Activities which will not only be fun but also relay messages regarding the conservation of this unique feline.
During the event, attendees will be able to enjoy a storyteller’s tales about the lynx, and join in the 'Beware of the lynx' workshop about road behavior, in which they’ll be given fundamental guidelines to consider while driving in lands where the Iberian lynx is present. They will also have the chance to visit a photography exhibition consisting of a selection of images of the species, its natural habitat and human context.
And as a memento of the event, participants will be able take photographs beside an Iberian lynx thanks to a virtual set Iberlince will install at the Plaza de la Independencia. These photos will be availbale for download from the project’s Facebook page (@iberlinceEU), where all photos taken in the photobooth during the event in Cardeña will also be displayed.
In the afternoon - at 6.30 p.m. -, and after an intense morning, attendees will be able to watch the children's play 'Mírame de lejos', by the EDAE theatre company, in the Cardeña municipal stand. Directed by María Alcántara Manzanares, the play tells the story of a young Iberian lynx family through humor, songs and dance, while sharing their reality and the values that support their conservation.
