Conclusions of the V Iberian Lynx Conservation International Seminar: Reintroduction Strategies

On the last week, days 4, 5 and 6 of April, it was held in Sevilla the V International Seminar on Conservation of the Iberian lynx: Reintroduction Strategies.

This seminar has had as main objective the design of a future strategy for the conservation of the Iberian lynx, which enables maintenance work already, started and facilitates the incorporation to reintroduce this feline somewhere else in the Iberian Peninsula.

Some of the conclusions reached after three days of work that will mark the guidelines to be followed in the establishment of joint conservation strategies in an Iberian level, among which are especially important demographics and disease rabbit connection (natural or assisted) of the various existing sub-populations, the establishment of new populations within the Mediterranean region of the Iberian peninsula, the cooperation of private landowners in lynx areas, etc.
