Students of the University of Huelva got to know in situ the Iberian lynx’s conservation program

For another year, a group of students from the University of Huelva visited Doñana in order to know the work done for the conservation and management within the Iberian lynx conservation programs of this specie.

The students, all of them enrolled in the course "Project management threatened fauna" offered by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences said that the University could meet in the field, accompanied by volunteers breeding centre of Acebuche and guided by a coach Life+Iberlince Project, different management actions undertaken in recent years within this conservation project. To end the training day, they visited the offices of the breeding centre of the Iberian lynx in Acebuche, where they received a briefing on the program of ex situ conservation of the species.

Again, it was very nice to share the interest shown by the participants who made the journey, it was especially participatory and whose curiosity allowed also address other management issues related to the species and its habitat and see first-hand the work of routine monitoring carried out since 2001.

From the Life+Iberlince Project we appreciate these initiatives that aim to expose such work to a very specialized audience and about the "future managers" to the reality of the problems of environmental conservation.
