Four new reinforce Iberian lynx populations eastern Sierra Morena and Montes de Toledo

Four new Iberian lynx have been released today in the reintroduction areas of eastern Sierra Morena and Montes de Toledo in order to reinforce the population of this iconic species in Castilla-La Mancha.
The Life+Iberlince Project has released three new specimens in the province of Ciudad Real and one in the province of Toledo, thus following the plan launched in 2014 for establishing new populations of Iberian lynx in areas where it was historically present.
In Sierra Morena Oriental they have been released a female and two males named Minerva Milvus name and Molusco, all from the centre of Zarza de Granadilla (Cáceres).
With the release of these two specimens is seven and the lynx released in the province of Ciudad Real in 2016, as previously were reintroduced the Mesta females born at the Centre for Captive Breeding of Silves (Portugal) and Moraira, born in the captive Breeding Centre of Zarza de Granadilla and a male named Mosquito, born in the captive breeding centre 'El Acebuche’ from Huelva and Medellin, born in the captive breeding centre in Zarza de Granadilla.
In Montes de Toledo it has been released today a new copy from the breeding center Zarza de Granadilla (Cáceres) which is called Manzanilla.
Manzanilla joins the recently released Moorish, a copy bred in the centre El Acebuche (Huelva) and Mazapán, cub born in the breeding centre of Zarza de Granadilla (Cáceres).
