The Iberian lynx was also discussed in FERCAM 2016

In the 56th edition of the National Fair Field (Fercam 2016) Manzanares, the Life+IBERLINCE Project has been present at one of the stands that the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development of Castilla La Mancha had available to visitors at the fair.

The agricultural and livestock sector is of vital importance for the “castellanomanchega” community, one of the main engines of its economy. In addition, this sector is also one of the greatest influence over the territory, hence its importance when planning any conservation measure on habitat of wild species such as the Iberian lynx.

The interest of attending the fair on public reintroduction project has been very high, especially influenced by the latest news of births release of 5 puppies in the province of Ciudad Real and 14 in the province of Toledo. This, together with the multiple releases made in the community this year has led to interest in the feline and therefore to the Iberlince project has been increased in recent months.

Throughout our presence at the fair, many congratulations have been released by lynx births this year. The visitors expressed their enthusiasm for the track that leads the recovery of the species in the region and are hopeful that soon is customary spot a lynx in Castilla La Mancha.
