Iberian lynx generating sustainable and positive economic impact
2016-09-05
Students of the Employment Workshop "Neoturismo-Turismo cinegético" which is being developed in Villanueva de la Fuente, have shown their support for the project and the speedy recovery of the Iberian lynx in its region.
Thanks to the historical presence of the species and to be an area of natural expansion from feline populations in Sierra Morena, Sierra del Relumbrar is presented as an enclave of special interest for future recolonization of the species.
To promote this recovery, Iberlince project has released since 2014, 42 copies in Castilla-La Mancha of which half have been released in the south of Ciudad Real.
One of the goals linked to lynx conservation is to generate positive economic impacts. To do any new initiative in rural areas is welcomed and supported to have the greatest impact on the economy of the area.
The opening of new markets with the creation of small rural businesses associated with gastronomy, hunting activity, nature photography, guided hiking, etc., will help increase the competitiveness of the offer with a high level of sustainability. The Iberian lynx becomes a claim of environmental quality, which adds value to the supply of services in the area.
This employment workshop is promoted by the Hon. Municipality of Villanueva de la Fuente and is funded by Ministry of Economy, Enterprise and Employment of the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha. Eight students are benefiting from this initiative which is scheduled for completion later this year 2016.
From the Life+Iberlince Project we acknowledge the support received and in turn, we wish you luck in all future activities which have environmental sustainability as one of its main objectives.
