During the briefing given at the Visitor Center National Park Cabañeros (Ciudad Real) by the FomeCam coach Juan Francisco Ruiz Alba, we have spoken about the increasingly frequent visits Iberian lynx released within the framework of the Life+Iberlince project to the National Park.
Cabañeros’ nearby are increasingly often views lynxes and is expected to come and perhaps be established within the park boundary in the near future. In fact, there is already the evidence that two of the released by the Life+Iberlince project have already gone through the P.N. Cabañeros. One of them was Khan, a male released in November 2014 in Mazarambroz (Toledo) that in dispersive incredible journey, crossed through northern New Year Cabañeros in 2015. The other specimen was Moon, female released in the Valley Matachel (Badajoz) in February this year despite already in April had been located near the park was not until last August when confirmed their presence in the park for a couple of days.
There is also evidence that two other specimens have been hovering north of the park boundary, Mirabel and Moorish.
The P.N. Cabañeros, that through the agency that manages (OAPN- MAGRAMA) participates in the Life+Iberlince project was marked as a priority to recover rabbit populations and as shown by the work being done to achieve a significant increase in rabbit populations.
The FomeCam technician with the aim of encouraging figures of cub production in 2015 was very hopeful and said: "The project development is well under way, not expecting a number of puppies so high in the first reproduction copies released, but this data, together with the work aimed at improving habitat being made in the areas of reintroduction and are designed to promote the populations of small game, especially the wild rabbit; They make us very optimistic about the future "
