The Board of Extremadura organizes a workshop of Traces and Footprints in the CEIP Los Arcos de Malpartida de Cáceres
2016-12-13
On December 20, we will do an Environment Workshop with the students of 6th grade Primary School of CEIP Los Arcos de Malpartida de Cáceres. To do this, we will count on the great help of Joaquín Fernández, a GPEX technician at the Junta de Extremadura, a great connoisseur of the theme we have chosen for this Workshop, the traces and traces of the most characteristic animals of the Los Barruecos Natural Monument.
We will begin the workshop by talking to students about the traces and traces that we can find in the surroundings of the Natural Monument, such as footprints and excrements of badgers, otters and meloncillos. We will also talk about footprints and traces of other larger and more common animals such as wild boars, deer, dogs and foxes. They will also be made aware of the parts of a footprint and how and where it is easier to see them.
It will try to identify traces and traces of common birds on the banks of the ponds, for example, the tracks of storks and herons.
Next, we will go to the Charca del Lugar, next to the school, where the students will carry out identification games and will be able to see live the traces and traces of some of these animals, with the objective of the students to acquire some basic notions to distinguish and to recognize the Footprints and excrement of animals from their immediate natural environment.
