Life + IBERLINCE at the 1st National Congress of Ecotourism (Ciudad Real)

The Life + IBERLINCE project participated in the "I National Congress of Ecotourism" held from November 22 to 24, in the municipality of Daimiel, in the heart of the province of Ciudad Real.

About 200 professionals from natural areas and the tourism sector, national park managers, technicians from regional environmental administrations, managers of the biodiversity resource, as well as technicians from rural development groups, national and international tour operators specializing in ecotourism.

In addition, this Congress will include the "Daimiel Declaration on ecotourism" and the recommendations for planning ecotourism in Spain, documents that should be a reference for the private sector and public administrations and that should set the evolutionary lines of ecotourism and Of Spain as an ecotourism destination.

FOMECAM technicians were present at the conference through an oral presentation highlighting the role of conservation of the Iberian lynx in the ecotourism of areas with a feline presence. Likewise, the Life + IBERLINCE project was presented as a tool to boost the local economy with the generation of local companies based on sustainable development, showing the presence of Iberian lynx as a claim for environmental quality.
