Preventive work to avoid Iberian lynx run over in Doñana

In the beginning of December, the work to reduce the risk of Iberian lynx run over was completed on a section of the A-483 road between El Rocío and Matalascañas.

The works, carried out by the CFyV of the Junta de Andalucía as partner of the Life+IBERLINCE project, consisted on the installation of a simple torsion mesh enclosure on the right side of the road between the 29 + 450 kilometer points and 31 + 200, as well as repairs to the rest of the existing fencing between the 29 + 450 and 36 + 500 kilometer points on both margins.

To favor the transit of the fauna on both sides of the road, the drainage present in this section has been properly channeled, with the aim of being used as wildlife passages. As previous work, we proceeded to prune and clear the vegetation along the road margins, acting necessary for the placement of the enclosure and to increase the visibility of the road users, thus trying to avoid accidental and undesirable accidents.
