The Participatory Days organized by the Life+IBERLINCE project 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' in the town of Montoro (Córdoba) last Sunday, with the aim of enhancing the conservation of the Iberian lynx, The initial public expectations, thanks to the involvement of the neighbors of the area.
In the various programmed activities, which started at ten in the morning and until two in the afternoon, children and elders participated, being able to enjoy the workshops with the family, while knowing basic aspects of the biology and ecology of the Iberian lynx, As well as other curiosities of the species.
Storytelling, game of the Iberian lynx themed oca, workshops of road education, percussion, bobbin liners, masks ... followed each other throughout the intense morning, in which a chroma was installed so that attendees Could have a photograph next to an Iberian lynx in the field. This activity was an experience for the attendees, who were able (and can) download their photo through the Facebook page of the project (https://www.facebook.com/iberlinceEU/).
Throughout the morning, participants in the conference also enjoyed the presence of the mascot of Iberlince, who accompanied the children and elders in each of the activities. Activities that not only had fun but also served to receive from the monitors and project technicians messages related to the conservation of the Iberian lynx.
The closing of the day was the premiere of the children's play 'Mírame de lejos', by the company EDAE, directed by María Alcántara Manzanares. The freshness and sympathy of the characters of the play, which told the story of a young Iberian lynx family, managed to raise the public of the Municipal Theater Romero Esteo de Montoro.
