The first Iberian lynx cubs detected during this breeding season in Castilla-La Mancha, correspond to the first female named Malvasia.
This female of two years old, was released in February of 2016 in the municipality of Sales with Peña Aguilera (Toledo) within the area of reintroduction of Montes de Toledo. After a while in this area, he moved further north to settle in the territory he currently runs and where he reared his four cubs.
Mural, of the same age as Malvasia, is the father of the cubs. Both were released in the same area and have the same age. He is also a first-time father.
Environmental agents assigned to the Life+IBERLINCE project have been able to record some images of Malvasia with their puppies. These videos fill us with joy and show us the tenderness and dedication these animals have towards their young. We wish you all the luck in this new stage that begins.
Thanks to the actions carried out under the Life+IBERLINCE project, these images are possible and are the beginning of the recovery of the historical territories of the species in the Iberian Peninsula.
