The Iberian lynx, a neighbour of Viso del Marqués

On the last Friday, a dynamic talk was held on the development of the Life+IBERLINCE Project, which presented, among other topics, the current situation of the lynx in the area, the actions carried out with the project partners, Census of the population in the Iberian Peninsula, more specifically in Castilla-La Mancha and the future of the species that passes through the collaboration of all citizens.

The talk that was motivated by the new actions being carried out and by the forthcoming release of a lynx specimen in the area of Viso del Marqués, within the area of reintroduction of Sierra Morena Oriental for the Reintroduction Project of the Iberian Lynx in Castilla-La Mancha, focused on new births and solve certain doubts about the project and the ecology of this endangered species.

There were about thirty participants from various fields: from the hunting sector, owners, neighbors, and prominent members of the Friends of Nature Visea Association, who were very interested and close in protecting the species and the measures being taken Carrying out to work jointly in the project. Because the survival of the species goes through a work of coordination and collaboration of all sectors, understanding the species as unique and unique, otherwise would not be possible.

We thank the managers of the Museum of Natural Sciences Viso del Marqués for the transfer of their space to approach and disseminate this project and the municipal corporation for making this meeting a space for the project to approach the population.
