Visit of the winners of the National Contest of Schools "Us for the Lynx and the Lynx for us" to the National Center for Reproduction of the Iberian Lynx, within the framework of the project Life+IBERLINCE

The Iberlinx Association and the Zoological Garden of Lisbon (www.zoo.pt), in partnership with the Directorate General of Education (DGE) and the Blue Flag Association for Europe (ABAE) through the Eco-Schools program, with the Project Life+IBERLINCE, held the National Contest of Schools "Us for the Lynx and the Lynx for us".

On May 9th, the Iberlinx Association accompanied the students of the first cycle of the EB1 / JI School in Miratejo, winners of the contest, on a visit to the National Reproduction Center of the Iberian Lynx (CNRLI) in Silves.

In a brief introduction the species was presented, explaining the life stages of a lynx in a breeding center, from birth to its release in nature. During the visit to the video-surveillance room, students were able to see the animal enclosures, resident lynxes and their offspring and get to know the day-by-day tasks of the CNRLI.
