New location of the Iberlince information point in Viso del Marqués (Ciudad Real)
2017-05-29
The information point Iberlince is transferred from Viso del Marqués, a town located in the Sierra Morena Oriental area south of the province of Ciudad Real. Its new location is in the Museum of Natural Sciences AVAN, located in Calle Real, 39, Viso del Marqués.
The museum has a wide variety of permanent exhibitions on botany, mycology, rocks, minerals and fossils, as well as representations of marine, African, and Iberian fauna.
Among the Iberian fauna stands an Iberian lynx that was donated by a neighbor and allows, together with other royal representations, to bring foreigners and non-foreign visitors and schoolchildren the beauty of such an example.
The municipality of Viso del Marqués, enters within the area of Reintroduction of the Iberian lynx in Castilla -La Mancha, where several territorial females have been established and have borne new lynx specimens this spring. Therefore, this information point, will make available to visitors, all news that happens with respect to the project and news that are happening of the situation of the Iberian lynx, as we know the most threatened feline on the planet.
We hope that this new location, closer and, therefore, gives the situation some visibility on the special vulnerability of this species as emblematic and so ours as the Iberian lynx. Let's take care of it!
We thank the Hon. City Council of Viso del Marqués, to the Department of Culture and the members of AVAN (Viseña Association of Friends of Nature) for their help and collaboration in everything related to the conservation of the Iberian lynx.
