Major turnout of Jaén citizenry in the Iberlince theatrical performance and activities in La Carolina

Last weekend in La Carolina (Jaén), the Iberian lynx was in the spotlight, as the Life + Iberlince project for the 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' hosted a wide range of family-oriented activities surrounding the lynx, invinting citizens of all ages to participate in the activities; and who, in turn, didn’t hesitate to go out and play, and learn about the Iberian lynx.

On Saturday afternoon, at the Carlos III theater of La Carolina, attendees witnessed a new staging of the children's theatrical play 'Mírame de Lejos' by the EDAE theatre company, a main focus during these learning days. Directed by María Alcántara Manzanares, the play tells the story of a young Iberian lynx family through humor, songs and dance, while sharing their reality and the values that support their conservation .

On the following day, attendees were invited to participate in a wide range of activities where they could create lynx masks to wear in the parade along the Molino de Viente walk; make lynx badges; play the game of the goose tailored to the Iberian lynx; or provide music for the event in a percussion workshop... Activities which were not only fun but also relayed messages regarding the conservation of the Iberian lynx.

During the event, participants could enjoy a storyteller’s tales about the lynx, and join in the 'Beware of the lynx' workshop about road behavior, in which attendees were give some fundamental guidelines to consider while driving in lands where the Iberian lynx is present.

And as a memento of the event, they could take photographs beside an Iberian lynx thanks to a virtual set that Iberlince had installed on the workshop stage.
