Larus and Limbo, the survival story of two orphaned brothers

Larus and Limbo were orphaned at a very young age, only a few months old, in 2014. Their mother, Heredilla, was hit by a high-speed train and died in May of that same year, leaving the two cubs orphaned and their future uncertain, particularly after specialists’ efforts to capture them were thwarted.

However, the camera trap campaign carried out by Life Iberlince project specialists, currently at 50% completion, have confirmed that they not only managed to survive, but, moreover, Larus is among the Guadalmellato (Córdoba) reintroduction area females who has had puppies.

In merely two or three months, the mother, Heredilla, was able to teach Larus and her brother Limbo everything they need to survive, to the point that the female has even reproduced.
