Lynx cub trampled by a train

On September 29th, Adif maintenance staff notified specialists at the Regional Government of Andalusia, attached to the Life+IBERLINCE Project, of the finding of an Iberian lynx corpse on the Alcázar de San Juan-Cádiz track 400, at kilometre 292, pertinent to the Vilches (Jaén) municipality.
It was an unidentified male cub born in 2017.
The result of the necropsy, which was performed at the Wildlife Analysis and Diagnosis Centre of the Regional Government of Andalusia (CAD), concluded that death occurred due to trauma sustained when the animal was run over.
