Vegueta, a lynx of Cardeña, in Guadalmellato

In recent years, there was a connection between the nuclei of the Iberian lynx population in Andalusia. Constant monitoring of the population dynamics through photo-trapping techniques, allows among other demographic parameters, detect cases of natural migrations.
At the end of 2014 and during the months of January and February 2015, detected in the Iberian lynx population of Guadalmellato, one of the well founded historical Female of Yeguas river valley in Cardeña. It’s Vegueta, an adult and old territorial reproductive female of Cardeña population. The low densities of rabbits in his home area, the age and competition with younger specimens, forced elderly females to leave their territories and to look other places.
