Collaboration between LIFE+IBERLINCE and GUADILINCE projects

GuadiLince, an environmental education project promoted by ADPM in schools and parishes within the Serpa and Mértola municipaities, co-financed by the Environmental Fund (ENEA), takes place in October and November 2017, with the collaboration of the Guadiana Valley Natural Park (ICNF) and the LIFE+IBERLINCE project.

The project consists of three main components:

Actions for the school community (from pre-school to secondary school);

Itinerant sessions in Mértola and Serpa parishes;

Exchange with an Iberian lynx reintroduction area in Spain.

School community actions have consisted of awareness campaigns – namely a presentation on the Iberian lynx and the LIFE+IBERLINCE project, carried out by the IBERLINX Association – followed by diverse activities using educational materials on the Guadiana Valley lynxes for the various schooling levels; such as activity books for the younger ones, as well as illustrated stories and simulation games for the older ones.

The itinerant sessions in Mértola and Serpa are comprised of different activities such as an exhibition and talks about the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx in the region.

Both the actions for the school community and the public sessions are followed by the play "Aqui há Gato!", especially conceived for the project by the Ao Luar Teatro company.
