We are looking for names for the lynxes to be released in Andalusia in 2018
2017-12-22
Would you like to name one of the lynxes that will be released in the Andalusian reintroduction areas in 2018? The Life+IBERLINCE project allows you to do just that because we want you to be a participant in this initiative, because we know that your support in the recovery of the species is essential.
As you know, next year a total of 31 specimens will be released in the different reintroduction areas in the Peninsula and Portugal, 16 males and 15 females, some of which do not yet have a name. We would like you to propose, through Twitter and our website, the name you most like for one of the seven lynx specimens that will be released in the Guarrizas (Jaén) and Guadalmellato (Córdoba) reintroduction areas. Nebraska, Niebla, Nieve ... these were some of the names with which Andalusian schoolchildren and followers of the Iberlince project in our social networks baptized three of the eight specimens released in Andalusia at the beginning of the year.
As to how you can do it, here’s the answer. Through Twitter, using the hashtag (#BautizaUnLince) with a mention to @Iberlinceeu, or on our website (sending your proposals via email to oficina@iberlince.eu, with the subject line BautizaUnLince). All your name proposals will be collected, and we will select the most original.
When proposing the name, you must take into account two important aspects: the name must start with the letter O (since all the lynxes born in 2017 will bear names beginning with this letter) and you must aim for originality and avoid names of people that start with O.
