Sara's proposition to baptize a lynx
2018-01-10
As part of her submission to the #BautizaUnLince campaign, Sara, a six-year-old girl, and Primary student at a school in Seville who is passionate about animals (especially lynxes and horses), sent us not only her name proposition for one of the specimens that the Life+Iberlince project will release in the coming months in the Andalusia, Guarrizas and Guadalmellato reintroduction areas, but also a wonderful drawing.
In said drawing, Sara included a rabbit because, according to the girl’s father, she "is aware of how important this food is for them".
Onda is the name proposed by Sara, and it will be added to the ten daily proposals the project is receiving through social networks and via Iberlince’s email. Oro, Ofelia, Olé, Okla, Orellana, Olimpia, Okey, Omega, Ósculo, Orfeo or Odisea are some of the names we received so far.
If you haven’t sent in your proposal yet, we remind you that the deadline is January 19th, when we’ll announce the names chosen for the lynxes that will be released into the wild in 2018. Bear in mind that the name must begin with the letter O (all lynxes born in 2017 will bear names beginning with that letter).
