The Life+IBERLINCE Project visited the Castro Verde Grouping

From January 9th to the 11th, 2018, the IBERLINX Association was in Castro Verde, Santa Bárbara de Padrões and Entradas to present the Life+IBERLINCE project to the 233 1st cycle students of the Castro Verde Schools Grouping.

In this awareness campaign, both students and teachers had the opportunity to learn about the project and the Iberian lynx; its habitat, threats, reintroductions in Portugal (2015-2017), dispersion and lynx monitoring, habitat improvement actions, and releases that will take place in 2018.

We remind this Grouping’s students that they too can participate in the #BautizaUnLince  campaign and choose a name for one of the lynxes that will be released in the Andalusian reintroduction areas in 2018. 31 specimens will be released in different reintroduction areas in Spain and Portugal; 16 males and 15 females, some of which still don’t have a name.

They can do so on Twitter, using the hashtag #BautizaUnLince with a mention to @Iberlinceeu, or through the website www.iberlince.eu by sending their proposals to oficina@iberlince.eu with the subject BautizaUnLince.

The deadline is January 19th. The name should begin with the letter O, as all lynxes born in 2017 will be baptized with a name beginning with this letter.
