The lynx recovers in Montes de Toledo thanks to the collaboration of private estates

In 2002, less than 200 specimens of "Lynx pardinus" remained in the world. Today there are 547, partly thanks to projects such as Life+Iberlince, in which the participation of private estates is critical. We travelled to El Castañar, in Montes de Toledo, where the Finat family has released 16 animals.
The first light tears through the night in Montes de Toledo. November 12th, 2017. Winter watches from the horizon and threatens to change the shades of yellow and ochres that paint the shadows and light like autumn. Like any other morning, photographer José María Finat y Riva (Madrid, June 26th, 1967), armed with his camera, goes out on a hunt for pictures. To the east, almost on the borders of El Castañar de Mazarambroz – his father’s estate, José María Finat y Bustos, Duke of Pastrana - there is an abandoned quarry where, today, he tries his luck searching for pictures that capture the wildlife here.
