Male Iberian lynx run over on the A-421, in Adamuz (Córdoba)
2018-06-12
Yesterday, specialists from the Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning of the Regional Government of Andalusia, attached to the LIFE Iberlince program, were notified by a private individual regarding the presence of an Iberian lynx with signs of having been run over on the A-421, within the municipality of Adamuz (Córdoba).
Upon arriving at the site, the specialists verified that it was, indeed, a male Iberian lynx cub.
The specimen’s body was transferred to the Wildlife Analysis and Diagnosis Centre (CAD) of the Junta de Andalucía where the necropsy will be performed, which will confirm the cause of death.
On behalf of the LIFE Iberlince project, we once again call on drivers to exercise extreme caution and respect speed limits in areas where the Iberian lynx is present.
