Students from the University of Huelva visit the Lynx management work in Doñana
2015-04-27
Last Friday, the 24th, a group of students from the University of Huelva visited Doñana, in order to know the work carried out under the conservation and management of the Iberian Lynx covered by the programs situ and ex situ related to this species.
Students enrolled in the course "of threatened fauna management Projects" organized by the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of the University of Huelva, had the opportunity to visit the breeding center of the Iberian lynx in Acebuche, where they learned about the species conservation program ex situ. Later, along with volunteers from the breeding center and guided by experts from the Life + Project Iberlince, were able to learn in the field, several management actions taken in recent years under this conservation project.
It was very pleasant to share the interest shown by the participants, which made the journey very interactive, emerging in the course of it, many other issues related to the management of lynx and wild rabbit, as well as the different methodologies used to monitor the populations.
Under the Life + Project Iberlince we want to thank these initiatives, which serve to publicize this type of work, into a very specialized audience, and bring the "future managers" of the reality of environmental conservation issues.
