Born the first offspring in the wild outside of Andaluzia

Ten months after the reintroduction of the first Iberian lynx in Valle of Matachel (Badajoz), we can confirm that one of the females released last June, gave birth to the first chicks of Iberian lynx, born in the wild in this region. So far, two were seen, but the existence of more is possible. The technicians responsible for monitoring confirmed that the chicks are in good physical condition.

Kodiak is a very young female, with only two years old and are less likely reproduction of a non-adult female, since on this species, reproducing occurs from the third year of life.
This news is important for the reintroduction program of Life + Iberlince project because lynx conservation is a long-term action and the reproduction in the wild is a key factor.
