The technicians of Life+IBERLINCE prsesented in the IES “Montes de Toledo” the iberian-lynx’s reintroduction Project in Castilla La Mancha
2015-05-29
Students attached to the reintroduction area of Montes de Toledo, received a briefing about the iberian-lynx and the Life+IBERLINCE Project.
Throughout the month of May, the Iberlince Project technicians got to IES “Montes de Toledo” to give a talk to students of 1st and 4th years of ESO. The institute receives most of its students from the municipalities included in the iberian-lynx’s reintroduction area in Montes de Toledo. Therefore the partners of the Iberlince Project in Castilla La Mancha, considered necessary to show how the proposed reintroduction of the feline takes place in their immediate environment.
Both interest and participation of these students in many of the activities taking place in the natural environment are very important. They have been participating in hunting days, agriculture, management of domestic livestock, forestry Works, etc since ever. This entails a strong attachment to the rural and natural environment, biodiversity and use of resources.
Against this background, Iberlince technicians have prepared these days to disseminate the project to reintroduce the Iberian-lynx, while the student’s impressions and concerns about the feline’s reintroduction were collected by them.
Provide first-hand information for future users in rural áreas, largely avoids or minimizes media that generate or perpetuate misconceptions about the compatibility between conservation and local development.
From the Life+IBERLINCE we want to thank to the management and teaching team of IES “Montes de Toledo” of Gálvez, and especially to the Jefatura de Estudios for their involvement and interest in the project.
