The Ministry of Environment of the Junta de Andalucía convenes a press conference on the reclassification of the Iberian lynx by UICN in Sevilla

On the June 29, 2015, it took place in Sevilla a press conference by the Ministry of Environment and Planning of the Junta de Andalucía in order to the change of status of the Iberian lynx threat by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (UICN), which happens to be listed as "critically endangered" to "endangered".
The conference was attended not only by several media called but also the public in general. From left to the right as the photograph is illustrating: Miguel Angel Simon (Director of the Life+Iberlince project), José Prosecutor (Minister of Environment and Planning of the Junta de Andalucía) and Urs Breintenmoser (President of the Cat Specialist Group of UICN).
At the hearing it was made a review of the history of conservation projects that have been completed until today and that have led to decrease the degree of threat of the Iberian-lynx, making clear that the work must continue to overcome new and difficult challenges it faces at the moment, this flagship species of the Iberian Peninsula.
