MENCATUR 2015: closing with the Iberian-lynx between their proposals for sustainable local development

During the last weekend it has been developed in the town of Villanueva de la Fuente, located in the southeast of the province of Ciudad Real, it has hosted the XII Feria de Caza, Turismo Rural, Artesanía y Productos de la tierra, MENCATUR 2015.

In these two days gathered in this city different economic sectors with a common reference point, conservation and sustainable development of rural areas.

The municipality of Villanueva de la Fuente, located south of Ciudad Real, has established itself as a meeting point for the promotion and enhancement of hunting, the cultural and tourist potential of the area. This show thus becomes the best framework for the promotion and implementation of various activities in the region.

This year the Iberlince Project has been represented by different formulas. Attendees were able to see the project thanks to the presence of a stand where they were personally served by the project technicians in Castilla La Mancha. In these meetings, concerns and experiences on current and past presence of the lynx in the region were exchanged.

Meanwhile, visitors to the fair had at their disposal the exhibition "Territorios de Lince" which is presented graphically a tour of the Iberian-lynx biology, problems and threats and conservation benefits.

To complete the Iberlince contribution to the fair, at 12:30 Sunday morning a presentation of one hour explaining in more detail the Life+Iberlince Project and the reintroduction of the Iberian-Lynx in Castilla La Mancha.

The host of the lynx reintroduction project by the attendees to the show has been very good audience. There were many people who came to the stand to show their interest and support for the project, expressing his best wishes for the lynx back to the region from which you never should have gone.
