Lynx found dead near Valencia de las Torres

On Saturday, 18th of October, a female Lynx, with radio transmitter collar, died, possibly runned over, near Valencia de las Torres (Badajoz) no road EX-103.

The animal was found by an individual near the road.

Immediately environmental and SEPRONA officers arrived on the scene, as well as technicians from the Secretariat of the Agriculture, Rural Development, Environment and Energy, integrated on LIFE+Iberlince program.

After the lifting of the dead body, necropsy took place on Caceres’s Veterinary College, which determines the cause of dead by run over. 

The others six lynx specimens reintroduced on Extremadura, are well adapted and established on theirs feeding areas, on Matachel valley.
