Female found dead in Doñana

On Wednesday (October 28) an iberian lynx was found dead in Doñana within the municipality of Moguer.

It was about a female adult born in 2009 and captured in 2013 in Mazagon within the Surveillance Program of the leukemia virus in Doñana-Aljarafe executed by experts from the Ministry of Environment adstrict to the Life+Iberlince Project. At that time the feline was radiolabeled for monitoring and for some days did not present normal behavior despite the activity signal emitting radio transmitter. Concerned the staff responsible for monitoring with Environmental Agents appeared at the site to check if everything was within normal.

After an hour of researching, the female body was found in an advanced state of decomposition.

The carcass has been moved to Center for Analysis and Diagnosis of wildlife in the Andalusian for necropsy.

By the time the cause of death of this issue is unknown and awaits the findings at autopsy that could clarify the reasons of the death.
