Actions to improve habitat in Sierra Norte de Sevilla

In last October, the work of implementing measures to improve habitat for the Sierra Norte de Sevilla has been undertaking as potential reintroduction area.
These actions to habitat improvement were developed in those farms which have a firm commitment to the preservation and enhancement of the environmental heritage-by signing cooperation agreements between the ownership of these farms and the Ministry of Environment and Territory Andalusian.
The actions that are currently running and the ones to be implemented over the next few weeks, are aimed at improving shelter and availability of feed of the rabbit population present in the area, and among other include pruning formation This grove to perform entaramados (placement of the branches pruned in the warrens of rabbits to improve the protection thereof), construction of artificial warrens with pallets, fencing construction of rabbit, selective clearings scrub to improve pasture, drinking and feeding placement for rabbits and partridges, etc...
The aim of these actions is to help the rabbit populations to overcome as far as possible the regulation to which these populations are subjected by the new strain of the viral haemorrhagic disease of rabbits.
