All set for the first releases of lynx in Castilla-La Mancha 2016

Yesterday in Toledo a meeting took place to which attended all the project partners of Life+Iberlince in Castilla-La Mancha. The reason for it was to analyze the state of the project and finalize all preparations for loose lynx in the region by 2016.
The meeting was attended by the project technicians assigned to each of the partners to develop technical performances in the community. FomeCam WWF-Spain, APROCA and the Ministry of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Development of the Regional Government of Castilla-La Mancha, with the presence of the Director General of Forest Policy and Natural Areas Cubero Rafael Rivera, who was the hosted the event which was held at the offices having such counseling in Toledo.
This meeting falls within the coordination efforts made in Castilla-La Mancha for the development of the Life+Iberlince Project, funded by the European Commission and other partners attached thereto.
The meeting was also attended by the project director Simon D. Miguel Angel Mata, which highlighted the good work of the castellanomanchega community in the development of actions for the conservation of the Iberian lynx. However, it also reflected the need to improve some aspects to secure stable populations as soon as possible in the community.
For 2016, the Life+Iberlince Project will free 19 Iberian lynx in Castilla-La Mancha, 10 in Montes de Toledo and 9 in Sierra Morena Oriental, in the south of Ciudad Real. These releasements come to reinforce those carried out during the years 2014-2015.
