The lynx "Labrador" came home for Christmas...

As in the known commercial, the male Labrador, one of the lynx released into the Valley Matachel (Badajoz) in April 2014 within the Life+Iberlince Project funded by the LIFE+ Program of the EU, it returned to the area of loose on the last Christmas. But, not looking for carols, feasts or gifts, but rather by the call of instinct, zeal, attracted by his need to reproduce any of the territorial females Valley.
The fact that Labrador was released in the Valley of Matachel and after spending four months in the immediate release area, began its journey to south. Passing through the fields, mountains, rivers and roads came north of the provinces of Cordoba and Sevilla, where it remained for four months until the arrival of the heat, in the case of the lynx begins about mid-December.Currently Labrador "rounds" the territory of one of the breeding females Matachel Valley.
This return trip of about 45 kilometers, which took less than 36 hours data we know from its collar with GPS technology, which gives us periodic information on the movements and location of the lynx released. The name "Labrador" was put by the students of the "Fernando Alvarado" School in the town of Valencia de las Torres, Badajoz.
