Marisma, a new female released in Guadalmellato

Today, February 25th, 2016, "Marisma" has joined the Iberian lynx population in the Valley of Guadalmellato.

The delegate of Environment and Land Planning, Francisco de Paula Algar Torres, released it in a place known as "La Ventilla" in the municipality of Villafranca de Córdoba (Córdoba) a copy of a female Iberian lynx, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Francisco Palomares Sanchez.

"Marisma" is an exemplary female born on March 11, 2015 from the couple of lynxes Homer and Fan. Its mother was captured in 2013 by the monitoring team of Life+Iberlince Project by presenting an eye injury that caused the loss of its vision, so it was incorporated as a founder of the Captive Breeding Program. "Marisma" comes from the breeding centre of the Iberian lynx "El Acebuche".
