Medea and Menta, new copies released in Extremadura

A farm in the municipality of Maguilla has welcomed the release of the lynxes Medea and Mint, a female and a male from the Breeding Centre of Zarza de Granadilla. Medea has come directly released under the name of hard loose, while Menta has entered a fence of pre releasinf as a step of adaptation to the environment.

Thus ends the reintroduction of the Iberian lynx in Extremadura during 2016. From January to March were there were nine lynx released, all equipped with a GPS collar to facilitate location and tracking.

In the release of the two animals this was in mind of the general director of Environment, Pedro Muñoz, who has said to the media that Extremadura remains a "benchmark" regarding lynx matter and highlighted the professionalism of all members of the chain that allows the reintroduction of the felines.
